Target Stores Coupon Policy
Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping with us, and it's easy to use them at our stores.
• Target accepts one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item (unless prohibited)
• Super Target coupons can be used in any Target store if the store carries the item
• We gladly accept valid internet coupons
Because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target.
When accepting coupons, we use the following guidelines:
• We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued.
• We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
• Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
• We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.
• We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.
• All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier while you're checking out.
As promised, I will try to put some of my tips for grocery savings here in my lonely blog! Maybe people will read it now? Be Prepared Ahead of time! You will want to organize your coupons from the very beginning! If you don’t – you will find yourself with a big mess! Buy an expandable check wallet (something like this: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/701250/Smead-Monthly-Expanding-File-12-Pockets/) and label on each section with a category name. I use Household, Health/Beauty, Freezer, Meat, Dairy, Snacks, Cereal, Baby (you could use pet if you don't have a baby?), prepared (which includes condiments and anything in a box), Canned, Drinks/Coffee. You can use anything that makes sense to you! When you get coupons, cut them all out and file them! Really, how you do this is up to you. I cut most coupons that I think I could potentially use or trade. I don't cut pet food coupons or coupons for cosmetics that I know I would NOT buy. Watch the expiration dates! Any time I am filing some coupons, I try to pull out one section and check the expiration dates. It only takes a few seconds to flip through and keeps things organized! Get Coupons! This is the absolute most important first step to becoming a grocery saving monster! This is not a difficult process, and anyone can do it! How to Get Coupons: In-Mail Coupon/Sales Flyers. Every week, you get a mailbox filled with grocery ads and other miscellaneous junk mail. Do you open those? Most weeks, there is a Red Plum or PG insert in that mailing that contains dozens of coupons! Clip those coupons! And, ask your neighbors to give you theirs if they aren’t using them! Buy the Sunday Newspaper. In my area, there are two different newspapers, The Post Gazette and the Tribune Review. I recommend buying both, and perhaps even two some weeks. How to decide? On the front page of the Sunday papers, there is a little ad at the top that lists a dollar amount of the coupons enclosed! Sometimes it's $50 and sometimes it's over a $200. If it's a big coupon week, I sometimes buy two papers! Believe me, the $2 investment is worth it when you are certain to save AT LEAST that much. @ the Store. How many times do you walk past those blinking coupon dispensers on the shelves? Really? Don’t! Those coupons are generally not doubled, BUT they can be used in combination with other coupons! Check the expiration dates, but grab them! @ the Checkout. Do you notice the coupons that print out at the checkout? No? Well, start noticing! Sometimes there are deals where you buy X number of certain things and you get a few dollars off the next purchase, or even free items! Don’t over look these and don’t forget to file them! Coupons.com. A small caveat, many grocery stores will only accept internet coupons that are for less than $3 off, and will not accept coupons for FREE items. Some stores, like my local Giant Eagle, will not accept ANY internet coupons. Ask your cashier about their internet coupon policy before you invest the time if you are limited to one store. Personally, I'll go to a different store to use these coupons because I live within a reasonable distance of several. Couponmom.com. Where you will find pointers to good deals and the most efficient ways to use your coupons! Store Savings Cards. If you shop at Giant Eagle and do not have an Advantage Card, SHAME ON YOU! But you should also get a CVS Card if you shop there and a Shop N Save Card and any other store savings card that applies to you! If you know of another source that I’ve missed, PLEASE comment! An Aside: If you are willing to make a small investment of $5 a month, you can sign up for the Grocery Game - they do offer a 4 week trial, which will give you exposure to how the process works and the lists themselves. FYI, the forum is public! They don't talk about specific products in the forums though, because they don't want to give away their information. Instead of saying Dial hand soap, for instance, they will say “mushy” hand soap. Just keep that in mind if you decide to check out the forums. Go get your coupon holder and start clipping those coupons! I’ll be back soon with more getting started information to get you on your way to savings!
I must be nuts to think that I can undertake this feat of posting every day. I might not be posting on the weekend, that's the only bad thing. Oh well. I shall post about Nanowrimo during Nanoblopomo and it will at least give me something to write about.
It has been a few years since I participated in Nanowrimo (for those who don't know, this is the National Novel Writing Month challenge, that takes place each November.) The last time I participated, I unfortunately did not get very far.
I am working on something that could be of use! I've determined what I believe is the best strategy for placing buildings on my streets. I'm bringing in 10M a day at day 3, I think that is pretty good. I've been sabotaged three times, but fortunately the chance cards have enabled me to protect my largest assets.
This morning was much less eventful than the fateful day, eight years ago. 8:46 a.m. passed quietly as I finished my drive to work. On the way, I passed many school children dressed in flag shirts and classic red, white and blue. Ironically, many of these children are not even old enough to remember.
I finally did manage to get into the game this morning, and it is really pretty lame. Go figure. Lag is bad, the game is SLOWER than a turtle on Vicodin and well I own my street. Or I am BUYING my street currently.
I'm quite surprised that I can't get in still. People are saying that Google should have been more prepared - but I am wondering now if Hasbro is maintaining this and simply using Google Maps. I don't think this is actually a Google app. More to follow...
I have been very excited about the launch of Google's Monopoly City Streets since I first heard of it's launch. Today, 9/9/9. I love games, so this seemed like a great new one to try out until January, when it ends?? Alas, the servers are over-crowded and I cannot get in. I will post more on the game once I actually get onto the registration page, at the very least.
